What you should know

We recognize and respect your privacy expectations. That's why we want you to understand what information we collect and how we use it. We collect and use only the information necessary to provide the high level of customer service you have come to expect. In this notice, we explain what information we collect, how we use it, and the steps First National Bank Alaska has taken to ensure that the privacy of your financial information is protected.

What information we collect

We collect and use the customer information necessary to serve you and administer your customer relationship. That includes collecting "nonpublic personal information" about you from the following sources:

• Information you provide to us on applications or forms, such as your income and accounts, or when you send us an e-mail, such as your e-mail address and any other information contained in your e-mail.
• Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, such as a credit bureau, providing your credit history or employment verification.
• Information about your transactions and account experiences with us or others.

What information we may disclose

We may disclose information we have about you as required or permitted by law. For example, we may share information with regulatory and law enforcement officials in connection with a subpoena, audit or some other legal process. We may report account activity to credit bureaus. We may share information to record deeds of trust and mortgages in public record.

We may share information to third parties to provide service for products you have requested or already have. These companies provide services such as check or coupon book printing. The ability of these companies to protect the information we share with them is an important component of our decision to do business with them. They are contractually obligated to comply with stringent security and privacy policies and procedures.

We do not share information with non-affiliated third parties except as required or permitted by law. Therefore, you do not need to take action to prevent disclosure.

Our security procedures

As described earlier in this notice, First National Bank Alaska is committed to preventing others from unauthorized access to your customer information. We maintain procedures and technology designed for this purpose, including the following:

• We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you.
• We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard our nonpublic personal information.
• We update and test our technology on a regular basis in order to improve the protection of customer information.
• When sharing information with third parties for purposes of providing services for products you already have, the ability of these companies to protect the information we share with them is an important component of our decision to do business with them. We require these companies to enter into a contractual agreement that restricts the use of the information to those purposes described above, and prohibits independent use of the information.
