How does it work?

Your business will issue a daily electronic list of pre-approved checks that the bank then uses to match with checks presented for payment. If a check serial number and dollar amount match with the daily list, the check is paid. Checks that do not match the list will be marked and identified as exceptions, which could potentially be fraudulent. Exceptional items are then listed in a daily report to your business for pay/stop pay instructions.
