Tim Breeden

While working his professed dream job, Tim Breeden often catches a glimpse of what he calls “The Dream” – a framed picture on the window sill of the loan officer’s office.

In the picture, Breeden and his wife Kim are posed with the ring bearer and flower girl from the couple’s 2005 wedding. The photo of the two then-newlyweds and two youngsters screams family. But a few years later, the Breedens welcomed son Zachary and the real thing.

“I love having a family, the dream,” Breeden said. “It’s been rewarding for me personally and professionally. The opportunities for personal growth are endless.”

By his own admission, Breeden has always been a strong believer in personal growth and loyalty. Those beliefs are what led him to First National Bank Alaska.

Back in 2004, Breeden made regular visits to First National’s Wasilla Branch as a customer. It didn’t take long for him to take a liking to the bank’s people and pleasant atmosphere. With some banking experience in his family background, Breeden made the decision to give the profession a try.

He started working on the teller line and quickly realized how much he enjoyed communicating with and helping the bank’s customers meet their financial needs.

“It felt good talking to people and I enjoyed developing those customer relationships,” Breeden said. “Talking to people, getting to know them and getting them what they need – that part of the job really suited me.”

Over the course of the next five years, Breeden worked closely with the bank’s business customers as a personal banker.

He was named a loan officer in October 2009 and now works closely with companies taking advantage of the Business Manager® program. The cash management tool improves cash flow for businesses almost immediately. Using the program, companies outsource payment processing and the mailing of statements to the bank and convert receivables to cash in about 24 hours.

“The good news for a business owner is they’ve got the business, the bad news is they’ve got the business,” Breeden said. “They need the cash to make it go. Companies that are really growing may need to make payroll or hire new employees to keep up with the work.

“You might not be able to fund that growth without the financial backing Business Manager provides. As a banker, gaining an understanding of how Business Manager can greatly benefit business operations helped me diversify my skill set.”

Breeden is a big proponent of Business Manager and proud of his time with First National. He’s honored to play a role in the bank’s continued success, especially as the family-owned institution celebrates its 90th anniversary.

“The bank’s been around for a while and will be around a lot longer,” he said. “It’s an honor to be here and I plan on staying for a very long time.”
