Jaime Kissner

Assistant Vice President, Juneau

Born and raised in Juneau – it’s a fact that adds a bit of fuel to Jaime Kissner’s daily routine as a First National Bank Alaska Assistant Vice President and Loan Officer.

“Southeast is Southeast, there is something real unique about it,” said Kissner. “It’s the ultimate ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ cliché. You can walk the docks in jeans and Xtratufs and put the finishing touches on a multi-million dollar banking transaction.

“You might not need that sharp tailored suit. It’s kind of informal, but we get things done.”

Kissner joined First National in October 2010 bringing with him several years of banking and commercial lending experience in Alaska.

In his time at First National, Kissner has really learned to appreciate the bank’s rich history and favorable reputation among many customers both new and old.

“We sort of fly under the radar as a community bank,” he said. “But First National competes favorably with larger competitors and can meet large loan requests thanks to its strong financial position.

“Yet, because our bank is local and filled with Alaskan bankers, we understand our customers’ business challenges and can offer expertise and fast to help them and their business.”

Kissner sounds like a guy proud to be part of the First National team. It might be because he knows a thing or two about teamwork. Kissner played collegiate baseball at NCAA Division I Northwestern State (La.) before returning home to Juneau.

“I always knew I wanted to come back to Southeast,” Kissner said. “Now that I’m here and settled back into my community, I look at my time playing baseball and realize now how much it influenced the way I conduct myself professionally.

“Being part of a baseball team means you’re relying on at least eight other people to accomplish your goals. I look at our customers and my other bankers as my teammates these days. Together, we all work well together.”
