Carlson and Worley strengthen the Best Bank to Work For

First National Bank Alaska’s Board of Directors recently appointed two local banking experts to new roles, further strengthening one of the “Best Banks to Work For,” as recognized by American Banker.

With more than 30 years of programming and software development experience, Dan Carlson was promoted to Core Technology Manager. In his new role, Carlson will manage and provide strategic oversight for the bank’s mainframe and core processing systems, and direct the development, maintenance and operations of all core systems. “There are so many ways to use technology to enhance our banking experience,” Carlson said. “I look forward to helping First National innovate and meet our customers’ evolving online and mobile banking needs.”

The Wasilla Branch welcomed Mortgage Originator Barb Worley. Worley comes to First National with over two decades of mortgage lending experience, including loan counseling, loan origination, and managing loan portfolios. She is chairperson of the NeighborWorks America National Homeownership Advisory Committee, and a member of the Anchorage Financial Partnership. “The home loan process is different for everyone,” Worley said. “That’s why I help our customers find the perfect financial solution to fit their needs.”

Alaskan-owned and -operated since 1922, First National proudly meets the financial needs of Alaskans with ATMs and branches in 18 communities throughout the state, and by providing banking services to meet their needs across the nation and around the world. In 2019, Alaska Business readers voted the bank the “Best of Alaska Business” in the Best Place to Work category for the fourth year in a row and American Banker recognized First National as a “Best Bank to Work For” for the second year in a row. The same year, Anchorage Daily News readers voted the bank one of the state’s top three financial institutions in the ADN “Best of Alaska” Awards.
