Schoenleber and Smith join First National Investment Management and Trust team
First National Bank Alaska’s Board of Directors announced Kristi Schoenleber’s appointment as Trust Officer, joining Shannon Smith, Operations Manager, as recent additions to the bank’s Investment Management and Trust Services Department.
Kristi Schoenleber, born and raised in Alaska, brings more than 25 years’ experience in investment management and trust services to First National. Prior to joining the bank, Schoenleber was a licensed Financial Consultant at the country’s third largest bank, working with corporations, tribal governments, and high-net-worth clients. Most recently, she was an analyst for an international bank with a focus on large corporate clients, foreign currency, and wealth management. As Trust Officer, Schoenleber will help customers develop and grow their wealth and estate plans.
Shannon Smith’s path to the department’s Operations Manager position led through First National’s Audit Department. She worked as an internal auditor with experience in trust operations. In her new role, Smith will serve as an additional resource for customers, in addition to their primary relationship officer. She will focus on ensuring a high level of efficiency and accuracy within the workgroup.
“For nearly a century, our bank has been committed to help Alaskans succeed,” said First National Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Michele Schuh. “Kristi and Shannon’s local experience and knowledge will be invaluable as we maintain that commitment to our investment and trust customers.”
Alaskan-owned and operated since 1922, First National proudly meets the financial needs of Alaskans with ATMs and branches in 18 communities throughout the state. In 2018, Alaska Business readers voted the bank the “Best of Alaska Business” in the Best Place to Work category for the third year in a row and as best Corporate Citizen for the second. In January 2018, Microsoft News named First National the most admired company in the state.
