When you’re one of Chris Longacre’s customers, your financial needs will be met with his motivating, can-do attitude. Or is it altitude?
A First National banker since 2005, Longacre is also an acclaimed mountain climber. In early 2014, Longacre dialed up now-wife Rachel from his satellite phone while atop the summit of Mount Vinson in Antarctica.
Mission accomplished – seven summits, the highest peak on each continent. Roughly, fewer than 100 Americans have completed such a feat. Just this summer, he added to his already impressive resume by climbing Mount Blanc in France.
“Being successful doesn’t necessarily mean making those summits,” Longacre said. “Instead, it’s about deciding what it is I want to accomplish and then pushing the limits to do so.”
Longacre’s personal vision also extends to his professional approach to banking. Setting goals and working to achieve them allows Longacre and customers like Dr. Wade Erickson to reach new heights and stand on sound financial footing.
“When Chris first approached me, he immediately showed us that he was focused on meeting our needs,” said Erickson, who operates Capstone Family Medicine out of the Meridian Park medical complex in Wasilla. “No matter the project, Chris and the bank approach you with the most-feasible ways of getting things done.
“It’s all very reassuring.”
A lifelong Alaskan, Longacre believes the state is full of great opportunities and adventures. He’s twice climbed Denali and also enjoys snow machining, white-water kayaking and skiing.
But Longacre sees more opportunities in the state than just hobbies.
“I have a strong belief in supporting Alaskan-owned businesses,” Longacre said.
After earning a bachelor’s in business management from the University of Alaska Anchorage, Longacre joined the bank as a management associate and learned the ins and outs of the banking world. He soon moved to the Wasilla Branch as a loan officer, where he remains today.
“Much like meeting the challenges of the mountain, I have a real passion for helping create a vibrant Alaska,” Longacre said. “Whatever it takes, we’re going to do our best to make sure each and every customer achieves their goals.”
