Marty Crow NMLS# 83081
ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT/ BRANCH MANAGER, EAGLE RIVER
While his banking career remains in its relatively early stages, First National Bank Alaska Eagle River Branch Manager Marty Crow has settled in nicely and flourished.
So it appears Crow has something in common with Cozy Interiors’ Melissa and Matt Hickey, at least from a professional development standpoint.
“The Hickeys impressed me immediately with great vision about where they saw their business going,” Crow said. “They were and continue to be very passionate.
“I feel the same way about what we do at First National. Our bank has a way of setting up Alaskans for success.”
The Hickeys have been operating Cozy Interiors, their flooring and furniture business in Eagle River, for almost 30 years. Crow is working his seventh year on the First National job, including the last three managing the Eagle River Branch.
“We’ve been very pleased and appreciative of the work Marty has done for us,” Matt Hickey said.
The feeling is mutual for Crow.
“Whenever you talk to Melissa and Matt, you come away with believing they’re going to achieve whatever they put their mind to,” Crow said. “Time after time, they’ve shown to be the kind of people our bank can be proud to have as customers.”
Crow arrived at First National in 2010 and was educated in the bank’s Management Associate Program. The program provides bankers with the skills and training needed to be a loan officer and branch manager in the communities First National serves. In it, Crow learned how to run a bank branch, underwrite consumer and commercial loans and manage a team of local Alaskans.
He spent almost two years as Branch Manager of the bank’s Healy Branch before moving to the Eagle River Branch in 2015.
“I’ve always found it interesting that if you’re on the outside looking in a perception exists that banking is all about the numbers,” Crow said. “But I’ve learned our customers succeed based on their performance and the performance of my fellow First National bankers.
“Our people are driven to do what’s right for their fellow Alaskans, and I find that to be motivating each day.”
