ANCHORAGE, AK – First National Bank Alaska and Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB Des Moines) have awarded grants totaling $364,000 to 13 nonprofit organizations across Alaska through FHLB Des Moines Member Impact Fund. This matching grant program is designed to offer eligible organizations critical financial support for affordable housing and community development initiatives.
“Through our partnership with FHLB Des Moines, we are able to extend our donation reach, giving Alaska nonprofits resources to help them expand their programs and serve more Alaskans,” said Board Chair and CEO/President Betsy Lawer. “Together, we’re helping local organizations create lasting opportunities and stability for the people they serve.”
Anchorage Coalition to End Homelessness will use these funds to provide hot meals, winter clothing, and hygiene and first-aid supplies to people experiencing homelessness. Cook Inlet Lending Center will expand lending for low-to-moderate-income individuals, while Covenant House Alaska will support youth education and employment programs – supporting First National’s ongoing focus on shaping a brighter tomorrow for all Alaskans.
Other Alaska nonprofits awarded with this program are Alaska Children’s Trust, Anchorage Affordable Housing and Land Trust, Bean’s Café, Denali Family Services, Kenai Mountains – Turnagain Arm National Heritage Co., Kids Corps, Inc., NeighborWorks, The Association of Alaska Housing Authorities, United Way of Anchorage and YMCA of Alaska.
