Overdraft Services 

We offer overdraft protection from a savings account or First National Bank Alaska Mastercard account by which, for a fee, your check or automatic bill payment requests are paid even though there are insufficient funds in your account, to avoid the creation of an overdraft.

You may also sign up for another overdraft service for your personal account that can help you avoid the embarrassment and frustration of having your debit card transaction declined. By “opting-in,” you authorize us to pay your First National Debit Card or ATM transactions that would otherwise be declined for insufficient funds.

There is no fee to "opt-in" to this service. However, if you “opt-in” and we pay a charge arising from your use of your First National Debit Card even though there are insufficient funds in your account, we will charge you a fee in addition to the amount of the overdraft we paid. A fee is not assessed if the amount of the item is $5 or less or if payment of all items presented that day would result in an overdraft of $5 or less. A maximum of five (5) fees will be assessed per day.
