Helping to provide life-affirming services to Anchorage youth

First National Bank Alaska donates essential items to Covenant House Alaska

ANCHORAGE – For more than four decades, Covenant House Alaska has been a life-affirming bridge for young people in Anchorage, providing no-barrier, safe, short-term housing to meet their immediate needs and long-term support that allows Alaska's youth in need to thrive.

First National Bank Alaska’s Dimond Branch is supporting Covenant House Alaska’s mission by donating 100 toiletry kits to Covenant House Alaska as part of the bank’s 100th year. These essential items help meet basic needs of youth experiencing homelessness or trafficking and help set youth up for success.

“This gift supports us in our work to provide compassionate care. Youth experiencing homelessness have the right to be safe and the right to be loved,” said Covenant House Alaska Executive Director Alison Kear.

First National, which opened in 1922, is marking a century of business by investing in the success of Alaskans for the next 100 years and beyond. As part of the centennial celebrations in 2022, each of the bank’s branches will make a meaningful donation to a local community organization and help shape a brighter tomorrow for all Alaskans. First National has 27 branches in 18 communities across the state. Each year, First National contributes about $1 million to charities and community events in Alaska through cash and other in-kind donations. We are proud to help Alaskans succeed, overcome challenges, and thrive.

Alaskan-owned and -operated since 1922, First National proudly marks its 100th year of meeting the financial needs of Alaskans. In 2021, Alaska Business readers voted the bank the “Best of Alaska Business” in the Best Place to Work category for the sixth year in a row, Best Corporate Citizen for a third year, and Best Bank/Credit Union. The same year, American Banker recognized First National as a “Best Bank to Work For” for the fourth year in a row, and Anchorage Daily News readers voted the bank one of the state’s top three financial institutions for the third year in a row in the ADN “Best of Alaska” Awards.

First National Bank Alaska is a Member FDIC and Equal Housing Lender.
