First National wins Best Place to Work for fifth consecutive year

For the fifth year in a row, First National is the recipient of the Best Place to Work in Alaska Business magazine’s annual Best of Alaska Business Awards. Businesses across the state are nominated and awards are voted on by readers of the local magazine.

“At First National, we know that prioritizing the health and happiness of our employees is a key part of our success. Our employees are the heart of the bank. They come to work every day with a positive attitude and commit to providing the best banking solutions to their fellow Alaskans, no matter what the challenge,” said Betsy Lawer, Board Chair and Chief Executive Officer.

“This is especially apparent this year. Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, our employees have stepped up like no other year before to find creative solutions to keep the bank open and moving forward.”

Alaskan-owned and -operated since 1922, First National proudly meets the financial needs of Alaskans with ATMs and branches in 18 communities throughout the state, and by providing banking services to meet their needs across the nation and around the world.  In 2019, American Banker recognized First National as a “Best Bank to Work For” for the second year in a row. The same year, Anchorage Daily News readers voted the bank one of the state’s top three financial institutions in the ADN “Best of Alaska” Awards. First National was also recognized as the most admired company in the state by MSN.com and received the Rita Sholton Large Business of the Year Award from the Alaska Chamber.
