Healy Branch kicks off Grand Re-Opening at new location

Alaska’s largest locally owned bank officially opened its new Healy Branch building and location with a ceremonial ribbon cutting, kicking off a weeklong Grand Re-Opening celebration. The new 1650-square-foot branch is located at Mile 248.2, W. Parks Highway.

Before First National opened a branch in Healy in 2008, residents drove 110 miles to Fairbanks to do their banking. The new one-story building provides a modern banking experience with added features previously unavailable to Healy customers including a double lane drive-thru, a drive-up ATM, drive-up night drop and easy access to the highway.

“At its heart, First National is a community bank, and part of that means serving Alaskans where they live. We are proud to deliver the same great service to Healy-area residents with an updated branch experience, at the new Healy location, providing convenient access to a full-service branch,” said First National President Doug Longacre.

For the past 13 years, First National leased space from the Tri-Valley Volunteer Fire Department to house the Healy Branch operations. To honor this affiliation Branch Manager Kevin Lundeberg presented the department with a $1,000 contribution to purchase personal protective equipment and other training supplies. First National donated another $1,000 to Neighbor to Neighbor of Denali Borough. The organization, which recently opened a permanent facility near the new branch location, offers emergency food assistance to borough residents in need.

“First National is set apart by our willingness to invest in Alaskans and the communities where they live, no matter the size or location,” Lundeberg said. “These donations represent our commitment to investing in Healy’s bright future and to Alaskans everywhere.”

As part of the grand re-opening celebration, the bank is holding an “enter to win” random drawing starting today and running through June 11. Visitors to the new branch may enter to win one of several valuable prizes.

Alaskan-owned and operated since 1922, First National proudly meets the financial needs of Alaskans with ATMs and branches in 18 communities throughout the state.
