Shipley brings 30 years of wealth management experience to the bank

First National Bank Alaska’s Board of Directors named Rod Shipley Wealth Management Director and appointed him Senior Vice President at the state’s largest, locally owned community bank.

Shipley has more than 10 years of experience leading wealth management and trust professionals in Alaska, and more than 20 years of experience leading institutional relationship management teams in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. In his new role, Shipley will direct all trust and investment management policies and activities for the bank. “I’m proud to join an experienced team with a proven track record of providing Alaskans a full spectrum of services that help meet their financial goals,” he said. “I’m confident that First National is the preeminent provider of investment management and trust services in Alaska.”

Shipley is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School, the National Graduate Trust School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Nevada, Reno. He is currently a board member of The Foundation of the Arc of Anchorage and Alaska Winter Wilderness Races, Inc. He has formerly served on the boards of the Anchorage Opera, Anchorage Concert Association, The Arc of Anchorage, and Anchorage Investment Advisory Commission.
