ANCHORAGE, AK – First National Bank Alaska donated $5,000 to Clare House, a program of Catholic Social Services (CSS) in Anchorage, that provides basic emergency shelter to women and children in need along with other necessities to transition to permanent, stable housing.
“First National has been a strong supporter of CSS for decades,” said Elaine Kroll, First National Senior Vice President and Treasury Management & Anchorage Branch Administration Director, currently serving as CSS Board Chair. “This donation to Clare House aligns perfectly with First National’s focus on helping Alaska’s youth in need. Two-thirds of the Clare House shelter short-term residents are children. It’s one way we can help shape a brighter future for Alaska families.”
“The families coming to Clare House are often living in a car or on the street, with nowhere else to go, when they come to us,” said CSS Executive Director Robyn Dempsey. “First National’s support has been integral in helping these struggling families shift from homelessness to permanent stability.”
