Airport director appointed to First National board of directors

Morton V. Plumb Jr., Director of the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, is the newest member of the First National board of directors. His appointment brings extensive executive management knowledge, and a lifetime of aviation experience to the board.

Key management positions for the United States Air Force include service to the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Washington, D.C. Plumb was also responsible for directing the Department of Defenses military support for the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill.

He holds an MBA and a bachelors in history and political science. His postgraduate work includes studies at the America University in Washington, the Executive Management Program at Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration and the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania.

In addition to his membership with the Downtown Anchorage Rotary Club, Plumb also serves ex-officio as a member of the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, Anchorage Economic Development Corporation and the Anchorage Convention and Visitors Bureau.

In 2006, he received the Robert B. Atwood Award for Outstanding Civilian of the Year.

Plumb joins the boards eight existing directors, including D.H. Cuddy, Betsy Lawer, Dr. Maurice Coyle, George E. Gordon, Loren H. Lounsbury, Margy Johnson, John T. Kelsey and Jane Klopfer.
