Bank donates $10,000 to Junior Achievement programs statewide

A $10,000 donation from First National Bank Alaska will help Junior Achievement (JA) of Alaska in its mission to “foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire Alaska students to dream big and reach their potential.”

The donation will sponsor a wide variety of JA programs ranging from JA BizTown and JA in a Day for elementary students to JA Career Success for high schoolers. The money will also be used to sponsor JA events such as the annual golf tournament and Bowl-A-Thon fundraisers and the Hall of Fame dinner, honoring Alaska business leaders.

First National has supported JA for more than two decades in its mission to be a bridge between the education system and business, teaching young people in grades K-12 the workings of the free enterprise system. The programs are funded by individuals and businesses like First National, and presented in classrooms across Alaska by volunteers.

Alaskan-owned and operated since 1922, First National proudly meets the financial needs of Alaskans with ATMs and 30 branches in 18 communities throughout the state. Visit FNBAlaska.com for more information about Alaska's largest locally-owned bank and access to efficient and secure online banking services.
