Board of Directors adds Tougas

Long-time Alaska businessman Tom Tougas joined First National Bank Alaska’s Board of Directors, the bank recently announced.

Tougas’ rich history with the state’s tourism industry started in the 1970s as a tour bus driver while studying in college. Today, he owns Seward-based businesses Major Marine Tours and the 90-room Harbor 360 Hotel, and has helped manage numerous other companies throughout the years.

“Tom operates and manages his various ventures with a strong belief in the important role the visitor industry plays in providing good jobs for Alaskans,” First National Chair and President Betsy Lawer said. “His years of leadership and expertise will bring another valued perspective to the bank as we work alongside our customers to help them succeed.”

Joining Tougas on the board are Lawer, Vice Chair Lucy Mahan, Adm. Tom Barrett, USCG (ret.) Dr. Maurice Coyle, Perry Eaton, Margy Johnson, Jane Klopfer, Loren H. Lounsbury and Fran Ulmer.

Alaskan-owned and operated since 1922, First National proudly meets the financial needs of Alaskans with ATMs and 30 branches in 18 communities throughout the state.
