First National Bank Alaska named among top 10 in national community bank marketing contest

Alaska’s largest locally owned and operated bank placed fourth nationwide in a contest for the best community bank marketing campaigns. The Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA) today announced the winners of its marketing contest, sponsored by Marquis, which highlights the entries judged the nation’s top 10 community bank marketing campaigns.

“It is an honor for First National Bank Alaska to be recognized at the national level for our strategic marketing efforts,” said Cheri Gillian, Senior Vice President.

The bank was recognized for its “We Believe” campaign. To revitalize First National’s longstanding brand, the integrated campaign emphasized the bank’s statewide roots for more than 90 years, its expertise and “big-bank” capabilities. Through print, radio and TV advertisements, the campaign promoted messages attributed to the bank such as “supporting local businesses,” “helping Alaskans succeed,” and “building a good quality of life for generations to come.”

More than 6,000 community banks throughout the nation were eligible to be part of ICBA’s list. The top 10 community banks were chosen based on their marketing and branding campaigns’ quality of design, integration of components, overall execution, goal achievement and the initiative as a whole.

“We work hard to ensure that our brand is consistent with our bank’s culture, community involvement and customer experiences,” Gillian said. “Earning national recognition for this campaign created and produced by a team of talented Alaskans, helps to underscore the value of that hard work.”

Alaskan-owned and operated since 1922, First National proudly meets the financial needs of Alaskans with ATMs and branches in 18 communities throughout the state.
