First National donates $10,000 to AVCP's Yupiit Piciryarait Museum

First National Bank Alaska will donate $10,000 to the Association of Village Council Presidents (ACVP) for the organization's cultural heritage center in Bethel. The presentation of the gift will be at the museum on Friday, Aug. 23 at 10:30 a.m.

The donation coincides with the First National Board of Directors meeting in Bethel, site of the bank's Kuskokwim Branch.

AVCP is a nonprofit organization based in Bethel that provides, at their member tribes' requests, a variety of social service, human development and culturally relevant programs that promote tribal self-determination and self-governance. AVCP works with 56 federally recognized tribes. The Yupiit Piciryarait Museum is a repository of cultural heritage artifacts and art from the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta region.
