First National offers support to federal employee customers affected by shutdown

The longest federal government shutdown in U.S. history is affecting more and more Alaskans who work for the federal government. First National Bank Alaska is offering, on a case-by-case basis, assistance to federal employee customers, which may include fee and late charge waivers on deposit and loan accounts, loan modifications, and payment deadline extensions.

Other assistance may be available as well. First National customers are encouraged to contact their branch or local loan officer for more information about options available to them on an individual basis. More information is also available at FNBAlaska.com.

“First National has always been there in times of need for our neighbors,” said Ryan Strong, Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer. “We’re going to do all we can to help our customers dealing with the challenges of the government shutdown.”

Alaskan-owned and -operated since 1922, First National proudly meets the financial needs of Alaskans with ATMs and branches in 18 communities throughout the state. In 2018, Alaska Business readers voted the bank the “Best of Alaska Business” in the Best Place to Work category for the third year in a row and as best Corporate Citizen for the second year in a row. In January 2018, MSN.com named First National the most admired company in the state and, in September, it was selected as one of the “Best Banks to Work For” by American Banker. The Alaska Chamber presented the Rita Sholton Large Business of the Year Award to First National in October.
