First National promotes Brown, Wamack

First National Bank Alaska and its Board of Directors recently promoted two bankers, further strengthening the bank’s team of local experts.

Jason Brown is First National’s newest Loan Officer. In this role, Brown will provide customers lending services to meet their financial needs.

He joined the bank’s Management Associate Program in January 2015 after working many years in civil construction.

“My background in cost analysis and as a project manager made for a perfect transition into my current role,” Brown said. “A good loan officer must know what it’s like to work in the field or in any type of business environment.

“I will always put myself in my customers’ shoes because I understand what it’s like to wear them.”

Michelle Wamack was recently promoted to Product Support Manager of the new Card Services Section. The new section is dedicated to serving the needs of the bank’s consumer and commercial credit card customers. Her new responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of credit card servicing, including fraud prevention, detection and resolution of cardholder disputes.

Wamack is also often sought after to speak to public groups on the topic of card fraud and best practices.

“We ensure our customers are receiving exemplary support by continuously vetting and implementing card offerings that help them best,” Wamack said. “We always keep our customers in mind.”

Alaskan-owned and operated since 1922, First National proudly meets the financial needs of Alaskans with ATMs and branches in 18 communities throughout the state.
