First National welcomes Miller as Director of Human Resources

Arriving at the bank with more than 26 years working in Human Resources, Patricia C. Miller is First National Bank Alaska’s new Vice President and Director of Human Resources.

The bank’s Board of Directors recently announced Miller’s hire and appointment. She will guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the bank’s 671 Alaska-based employees. Those programs will mostly cover staffing, talent management, training, employee relations, compensation, benefits and employee services.

“First National’s reputation speaks for itself,” Miller said. “It’s no coincidence that Alaska Business Monthly readers named the bank the ‘Best Place to Work’ in 2016.

“Our employees strengthen that reputation daily by providing our customers with the banking services they need.”

Highlights from Miller’s previous work before joining First National include leading the expansion of an Alaska-based business to 7,000 employees in 45 states and seven countries. She also successfully negotiated more than 37 union contracts.

In service to her community, she sits on the Alzheimer’s Resource Center of Alaska Board of Directors as its President.

“First National’s strategic direction is based on providing our employees with a rewarding work experience,” Miller said. “Our foundation is strong, and I’m thrilled to now be part of it.”

Alaskan-owned and operated since 1922, First National proudly meets the financial needs of Alaskans with ATMs and 30 branches in 18 communities throughout the state.
