FNB Donates Nearly $1.5 Million To Alaska Communities

Alaskans from Muldoon to Mountain Village received nearly $1.5 million this past year in charitable gifts, activity sponsorships and in-kind donations of time and talent from First National Bank Alaska and its 750 employees statewide.

Financial support totaling $1,275,225 was donated to a wide variety of health, youth, educational and civic organizations in the state. First National paid special attention to the needs of Alaskas children by continuing their longstanding support for organizations such as Boys and Girls Club, the Alaska School Activities Association, the Anchorage Center for Families, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Education was also a major focus of the banks support, with significant contributions to the University of Alaska Anchorage, Alaska Pacific University, Sheldon Jackson College, and the University of Alaska Southeast.

In addition to these donations, bank employees volunteered hundreds and hundreds of hours to assist organizations statewide. First National Bank also donated thousands of dollars of gift items such as childrens toys, sporting goods, office supplies and clothing items.

Having a genuine interest in the success of Alaskans is much more than a slogan, said Betsy Lawer, Vice Chair and Chief Operating Officer of First National Bank. Actively
supporting the communities we serve has been a part of our philosophy since we opened our doors 80 years ago. And that commitment to Alaskans success remains strong as we begin our next 80 years.

Established in 1922, First National is Alaskas largest Alaskan-owned and operated bank, with 27 branches throughout Alaska and ATMs in 17 rural communities.
