Food Bank receives cash, pies

First National Bank Alaska made a donation$5,000 and 40 piesto the Food Bank of Alaska today at the Dimond Branch during the banks annual Pie Day. The Pie Day tradition offers a slice of pie to customers
at each of the banks 28 branches.

The monetary donation to the Food Bank of Alaska will be used to buy food for less fortunate families during the holiday season. The pies will be served for Thanksgiving dinner, provided by Beans Caf in Anchorage.

Bank President D.H. Cuddys mother, Lucy Cuddy, started the Pie Day tradition more than 30 years ago. Its one way the bank and its employees say thank you to customers during the holiday season. D.H.
Cuddy has been at the helm of the Alaskan owned and operated bank for 54 years.

"It's important that we take time to remember those less fortunate than us," says Stacy Tomuro, First National Bank Alaska Vice President and former Food Bank of Alaska Board President, "This donation will
help put food on the table of many Alaskans and we hope will encourage others to give as well, because no one deserves to go hungry, especially during the holiday season."

Over the past 10 years, First National has donated some $100,000 to Beans Caf and the Food Bank of Alaska. This is the first year a donation was made in association with the banks Pie Day.

Established in 1922, First National is Alaskas largest locally owned and operated bank, with ATMs and 28 branches in 16 communities throughout Alaska.
