Juneau Regional Branch opening supports University of Alaska Southeast
Alaska’s largest locally owned and operated bank cut the ceremonial ribbon and donated $15,000 to the University of Alaska Southeast today at its Juneau Regional Branch kick-off of a month-long celebration of Juneau’s newest bank building.
“People who live and work in Juneau now have convenient access to modern, full-service banking and on-site financial experts in this new Juneau Regional Branch,” said First National Executive Vice President Doug Longacre. “This convenience is backed by firsthand, local knowledge and experience of our friendly, Alaskan staff headed by Branch Manager Jodi Meyer.”
The two-story, 7,854 sq. ft. branch at 840 W. 10th Street brings the future of banking to Juneau, demonstrating the bank’s commitment to serving all Alaskans living and working in Southeast Alaska. The branch features access to services not previously available to downtown Juneau customers, including a 24/7 drive-up ATM and night drop, drive-up lane, free parking adjacent to the branch and a full function kiosk in the lobby for fast, secure online banking. The new branch also offers a private area for safe deposit boxes, and offices where customers may meet with bank officers.
To further demonstrate its commitment to the future of Alaska and to the Southeast region, Regional Branch Manager Luke Fanning presented $15,000 to the university’s Getting Ready for College program. The donation is part of the bank’s $20,000 commitment this year to the program. In addition, the gift includes another $5,000 for the program’s expansion to the Bethel region.
“Each year First National sets aside about one-third of its annual $1 million in donations for institutions of higher learning in our state,” he said. “We believe there is no better investment in our state than in the education of students who are Alaska’s future community and business leaders,” Fanning said.
Continuing the celebration of the new branch opening, the bank is holding an “enter to win” random drawing starting today and running through Oct. 30, 2015. Visitors to the branch may enter to win one of several great prizes.
