Karl Heinz appointed new Haines Branch manager

The Board of Directors appointed Karl Heinz as Haines Branch Manager, effective May 26. He will fill the position of current Haines Branch Manager Dick Flegel, who is retiring after more than 35 years with the bank.

Heinz earned a bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Alaska Anchorage. He brings five years of experience at First National to his new position, most recently as a loan officer at the Soldotna Branch. Heinz opened the Glennallen Branch as branch manager in 2006. Prior to that, he worked as a loan officer in Kodiak for three years.

Heinz says he enjoys volunteering for such organizations as the Alaska School Activities Association. He also has been involved in the Copper River Basin 300 sled dog race and Habitat for Humanity.

Established in 1922, First National is Alaskas largest Alaskan-owned and operated bank, with ATMs and 30 branches in 18 communities throughout Alaska. More information about First National is available at www.FNBAlaska.com
