New appointment underscores banks local commitment

Jane Cuddy Klopfer, daughter of D.H. Cuddy, Chairman and President of First National Bank Alaska, was recently elected to First Nationals board of directors. Her appointment reinforces First Nationals commitment to remaining an Alaskan owned and operated bank.

Klopfer, a lifelong Alaskan and co-owner of the Snow Goose Restaurant in
downtown Anchorage, brings a wealth of financial knowledge and experience to First Nationals board of directors.

After graduating from Anchorages West High School, Klopfer left the state to attend college. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and earned a Master of Business Administration in Finance, while working in institutional portfolio management for the investment firm McMorgan and Company in San Francisco. After several years, Klopfer returned to Alaska, working as a stockbroker until the money management firm Alaska Permanent Capital Management Company hired her as a
senior vice president. A few years later, after the birth of her daughter, Klopfer enjoyed an early retirement, while retaining a seat on their board of directors.

We welcome Mrs. Klopfer to First Nationals board of directors and look forward to tapping her extensive investment-management knowledge. Her Alaska roots give her an intimate knowledge of our great state, which will be helpful to our operations as we serve Alaskans statewide, said First National president D.H. Cuddy.

Klopfer joins the boards seven existing directors, including D.H. Cuddy, Betsy Lawer, Dr. Maurice Coyle, George E. Gordon, Loren H. Lounsbury, Margy Johnson and John T. Kelsey.

Established in 1922, First National is Alaskas largest Alaskan-owned and
operated bank, with ATMs and 29 branches in 17 communities throughout Alaska.
