Phishers targeting bank customers

What:
Internet thieves are currently sending counterfeit e-mail messages designed to look like they are from First National Bank Alaska. Phishing e-mails often include urgent requests for personal financial information and appear to be sent by the bank.

When:
First National was alerted to the scam today. Phishers usually run their scams for at least a few days and up to a month or longer.

What to do:
First National Bank Alaska is NOT sending e-mail messages asking
customers to verify account information. First National never solicits customer information via e-mail, nor does it conduct customer authentification via e-mail. If you receive an e-mail that could be phishing, DO NOT RESPOND to the solicitations nor click on any links within the email.

Call the bank at 777-4FNB (4362) in Anchorage/Eagle River or toll free at 1-800856-4362 to report suspected fraud involving First National accounts.
