Trio tabbed to head new divisions

First National Bank Alaska's Board of Directors recently appointed experienced, longtime Alaskans to lead new divisions within the bank as senior vice presidents.

Cheri Gillian was promoted to Director of Corporate Communications and External Affairs. Gillian was hired in 1980 as First National's first full-time graphic designer, and after leaving the bank for a short time returned as Marketing Officer in the early 1990s. She's guided First National through the ever-changing electronic age and launched the bank's online presence.

John Hoyt was named Deposit, Consumer Credit and Card Services Director. He's responsible for the bank's deposit-gathering processes and oversees the consumer lending unit. Hoyt brings more than 27 years of Alaska banking experience to First National, including time spent working in Anchorage, Homer, Kodiak, Sitka, Soldotna and Wrangell.

Ryan Strong was named Mortgage Lending Director. He started his full-time banking career at First National in 1995 and worked 10 years as a management associate, loan officer and branch manager. In his return to the bank, Strong oversees all aspects of the mortgage lending process, including compliance, quality control and business development.

Established in 1922, First National is Alaska's largest Alaskan-owned and operated bank, with ATMs and 30 branches in 18 communities throughout Alaska. More information about First National is available at FNBAlaska.com.
