Weimer named Branch Lending Administrator

Charlie Weimer was named the bank’s new Branch Lending Administrator.

The bank’s Board of Directors recently announced Weimer’s appointment.

Based in First National’s Soldotna Branch, Weimer will now work closely with bank leaders in Fairbanks and the Mat-Su Valley, as well as those on the Kenai Peninsula, Kodiak, Valdez, Glennallen Bethel and Southeast Alaska. He’s helped Alaskans meet their banking goals for more than 32 years.

Before starting his banking career, Weimer earned his way through college by working in canneries, in construction and by commercial fishing on the Yukon River. Upon graduation, Weimer joined First National’s management associate program, working in Anchorage before finding a permanent home on the Kenai Peninsula in 1984.

“Working shoulder to shoulder with Alaskans is a great responsibility that I look forward to continuing in collaboration with the experienced leaders First National has in all regions of our state,” Weimer said.

Weimer’s new responsibilities include strengthening lending and deposit services and customer relationships in the communities served by the bank outside the Anchorage area.

“All of our efforts are designed to offer our customers the convenience, service and value they expect from their local, trusted First National bankers,” Weimer said.

Alaskan-owned and operated since 1922, First National proudly meets the financial needs of Alaskans with ATMs and 30 branches in 18 communities throughout the state.
