The Digital Banking Upgrade offers an updated, modern online banking experience for business customers. Expect changes to navigation, layouts and overall usability. With a few exceptions, core banking services and functionality remain unchanged.

Key changes

Business and personal banking customers will log in to one online banking platform. 

Navigation and feature access will use modern menus, workflows and streamlined design.

Enhanced security uses multifactor authentication via text, phone or email or token.

Employees can now “log in as a customer” (viewing the account from the customer perspective), allowing them to provide better support. 

Employee will have access to the admin portal to view customers’ online banking records.

Electronic statements and notices are accessible by all customers enrolled in online banking.

All analysis customers will see their analysis statements online.

ACH and wire customers can use hard or soft tokens.

  • Are Alerts changing?

    The interface and design are changing. Existing notification functionality will remain unchanged.

  • Are core banking systems changing?

    No. This upgrade focuses on the digital banking experience. Core banking systems and many existing banking services will remain in place.

  • Are there any browser restrictions for website log in?

    The platform supports current versions of major browsers such as Microsoft edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari. You should use supported, up-to-date browsers for the best experience.

  • Can a stop payment be deleted if placed in error or need a re-do?

    You may be able to cancel or modify a stop payment request depending on its status and whether it has already been processed. If a stop payment was submitted in error, you should contact the contact center or visit a branch as soon as possible for assistance.

  • Can I change my address when ordering checks?

    No, the check address is prefilled from Premier. If you need to update your address, you will need to use our secure change of address form and submit a require prior to ordering checks.

  • Can I change my User ID in the Digital Banking Upgrade?

    Yes. You will be able to change your User ID within digital banking, by clicking User ID under Profile.

  • Can I have a check order sent to an address that is not on the account?

    You cannot have checks mailed to a different address, nor can change the address that prints on the checks.

  • Can I login as Business and Consumer at the same time?

    Yes, if you have two separate login credentials you can log in on separate browsers or devices. If you have a CAMA you will see the personal and business accounts under one online banking login.

  • Can I manage biometric login settings in digital banking?

    Yes. You can manage biometric login settings within digital banking, but biometric enrollment must be completed through the mobile banking app.

  • Can I place a stop payment if they don’t have the amount or the check date?

    To place a stop payment online, you’ll need to know the check amount. If you don’t know the payee, you may leave that field blank. Additional guidance is available through the Digital Banking Help resources.

  • Can I update my username if I don’t like it?

    Personal users can change their user name.

  • Can I use special characters in my User ID?

    Your User ID must be unique and you will be prompted to choose another if it is already in the system.

  • Can users upload signed bank PDF forms through the new platform?

    Not through Digital Banking.

  • How do I access profile and settings in the Digital Banking Upgrade?

    You will access you profile and settings by clicking your name in the top-right navigation.

  • How will Centralized Access and Management Authorization (CAMA) agreements work?

    CAMA agreements will work as they do today.

  • How will secure forms be used?

    You can use Secure Forms to change an address, request paper statements, request an account closure, and to submit a travel notification.

  • How will the Escrow and Cenlar portals work or be displayed?

    You will continue accessing the Escrow and Cenlar portals from the drop-down menu on First National’s website. There is no change to how these services are accessed.

  • If I am in the blocked country, would I need to wait to comeback to the U.S. in order to login?

    You should notify the bank before traveling whenever possible. Travel notifications do not override sanctions or countries where transactions are prohibited. Access from blocked countries may still be declined regardless of travel notice.

  • If I create a stop payment request and canceled the same day, will the fee still get charged?

    Yes, the stop payment fee is charged at the time you submit the Stop Payment.

  • Is there a restriction on how many times I can change my User ID?

    No, there is not a standard lifetime limit built into the system.

  • What do I need to know about multi-account transaction downloads are not available at launch?

    Multi-account transaction downloads are not available at launch.

  • What is text banking?

    Text Banking is a service that allows you to access certain banking services via text messaging.

  • Where can I access tax documents?

    You can access tax documents by clicking your name in the top-right navigation, then profile, then Tax Documents.

  • Will Account Alerts be available online and in the mobile app?

    Yes.

  • Will biometrics be an option to login?

    Yes.

  • Will branches still use Access Manager?

    No.

  • Will business and personal customers use the same online banking platform?

    All customers will use the Digital Banking Upgrade platform, although available features and functionality may vary based on customer type and entitlements.

  • Will existing alerts carry over?

    Yes.

  • Will I have the ability to view my credit card in Online Banking?

    At this time, you are not able to view your credit cards in the online banking platform.

  • Will I need to learn a new navigation structure?

    Yes. You should expect updated menus, layouts and navigation in online banking.

  • Will I need to re-enroll in online banking?

    Most customers will transition to the new platform using their existing credentials and enrollment information. Additional communication and guidance will be provided if customers need to take action to log in before launch.

  • Will I sign in differently after the upgrade?

    Personal and business banking require separate logins.

  • Will I sign in differently after the upgrade? Token users may not know their credentials at go-live.

  • Will I sign in differently for linked accounts after the upgrade?

    Linked accounts continue using existing credentials.

  • Will Mortgage Lending Wealth Management & Trust and Escrow integrate with the new platform?

    Not at this time.

  • Will online banking look different after the upgrade?

    Yes. You will experience an updated and modern online banking interface, navigation and layout.

  • Will there be easy to find links to access their Escrow and Cenlar accounts? Before sign on or after?

    Yes. You will continue accessing the Escrow and Cenlar portals through links available on First National’s website, just as they do today.

  • Will there be online account enrollment?

    No, you will continue to establish banking relationships through existing First National account-opening processes. The new platform provides digital banking access but is not currently being implemented as a full online account-opening platform.

  • Will there be real-time chat?

    No, Real-time chat is not currently part of the new platform.

  • Will updates to Premier be immediate or do updates take some time? Example, I deposited a check, when will my balance update?

    Account balances and transaction activity are updated based on the processing type. Some transactions, such as transfers, may appear immediately, while deposits, check holds, and other processing activities may require additional time before the available balance is updated. You should refer to funds availability disclosures and hold notifications for specific timing.

  • Will we have a link on our home page to the new platform or is this a platform that we have to use our website to access?

    Yes. Business customers will continue enrolling through the existing Business Online Banking enrollment process. In many cases, branch employees will assist with completing the initial enrollment and provide the User ID needed for the customer’s first login.

  • With the single log in between business and personal, if I create the same username / ID and password, how will the system know what they are logging in to?

    No. Personal and business Digital Banking require separate User IDs. The same User ID cannot be used for both account types. You are able to link your business and personal accounts once logged in.
